About the Centre
Ontario's rapidly aging population presents major challenges and opportunities for our healthcare system. Ontario's health and social care providers care for increasingly diverse and older populations than they may have originally been trained to care for. To address this knowledge gap, innovative and accessible ways to get the latest and high quality education to our front-line providers has become a key priority.
The Ontario Geriatrics Learning Centre is a collaborative online space where leading Ontario healthcare professionals have been invited to share their knowledge and expertise with those caring for the elderly. The site features on-demand, high-quality lectures which cover a range of topics within three knowledge categories.
"The Ontario Geriatrics Learning Centre is an excellent tool that will help providers better serve Ontario's aging population," says Dr. Eric Hoskins, Ontario's Minister of Health and Long-Term Care.
"The OGLC gives providers access to a host of educational resources supplied by the province's foremost experts in geriatric care. It is of great benefit to providers and, in turn, it means patients will receive the best quality care."
"The Ontario Geriatrics Learning Centre is an innovative space where health and social care professionals are able to share their knowledge and expertise. The goal of this important resource is to help current and future providers from Ontario and beyond to gain the knowledge and skills they need to better care for our aging population."
